Lots of thoughts, mainly anti but no matter. Steve Slatcher was the only
one who seemed to pick up my drift viz: it was a way to get basic ideas in
front of young people rather than expect them to look for them. Looking up
recipes may not be high on their list of priorities!
. Yes, they will get covered by plates etc but will surface from time to
time. That's the reason for making them washable. They stand a chance of
getting read while someone is waiting for something to cook.
. Can be stuck on the side of the microwave if appropriate.
. Can give basic info like how much meat to how many people, how much onion
to meat in general etc., basic recipies - suggest a basic curry, casserole,
shepherds pie, spag bol etc + maybe veggie - the basic info somebody needs
if they fancy giving it a quick try.
The main virtue is that they are to hand; you don't have to get a book or
bring up a website. If people are interested in a particular type of
dish/cooking they will look it up in existing sources; this is to help
those who've left home with no nutrition info and could be tempted to move
away from readymades, maybe to avoid XS sugar or salt or some such as is
getting talked about ATM. Without help they risk malnutricion and they are
OUR young.
Cheers
