I sometimes cook fruit cakes in a MW combi and He makes bread in it too
although we generally put the range on for a day when we know we have
certain things to cook and we cook in bulk and stock up the freezer. It's
been successful although I find I have to use a higher temperature than in
my range or predecessor "normal" ovens. Having said that, it is normal,
IME, to have to cook things like cakes at different temp settings in
different ovens as thermostats vary.

My MIL preferred to cook sponges in a MW - in a flan dish - and she was
known as a VG sponge maker.

Cheers
Jane

Thank you Jane,

I think most of the replies have convinced me it is a good purchase.
