Looks suspiciously like advertising to me.

For Christmas every year when we were little my father used to make a
non-alcoholic ginger cordial, which was always known by us as ginger
wine. I remember that he used Friar Tuck's Ginger Essence, sugar and
water but AFAICS that brand is no longer available. It was a dark, rich
cordial, kept in a pop bottle, that we diluted with boiling water for a
hot Christmassy drink.
Sadly I never got the recipe from him. Has anyone got any suggestions
on how I might go about recreating it?
Yesterday I experimented with sugar syrup and a bottle of Langdale's
Ginger Essence but it was a total flop. There is a slick of brown
essence (or oil?) on the top and it smells to me like embrocation :-(
I've searched for a recipe but can't find one. If anyone can help I
would be extremely grateful. Alcoholic versions are also welcome but
I'm primarily interested in the cordial.

Geeeee .... that's expensive. £6.30 per bottle + postage (don't know
how much because it says 'enter a valid postcode' even with my valid one
entered) and it only makes 4 pints!

Look at Riddle's Ginger Compound (Extra hot)

Makes a Delicious Non-Alcoholic Cordial or Mixer Drink

- but - I don't like it as much as Sodastram ginger essence.

Why would anyone want to use essence when real ginger is easily
available?

'Root' or stem ginger is not so easily stored as a made-up preparation?

I don't store it as I buy it when I need it. It gets used for cooking
as well as wine making.

Nor do I, so do I, but not everyone has a reliable supply. (And not
everyone CBA)
