HE fancies a recent tv (James Martin) recipe for Beef Wellington and we
thought we'd make it for some guests. Just discovered that one guest needs
non-dairy. Anybody have any experience of puff pastry without butter or
other dairy products please?

I'll be consulting the literature and web but real life experience would be
much appreciated.

Thanks
Jane

Easily solved. Just buy ready made puff pastry rather than making it
yourself.

Tesco 375g ready rolled ingredients "Wheat Flour, Margarine, Water,
Ethanol, Sugar, Salt, Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Margarine
contains: Palm Oil, Water, Emulsifier (Mono- and Di-Glycerides of Fatty
Acids, Sunflower Lecithins), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Salt".

Can't see anything there which has been near a cow!

I don't think any dairy intolerance are life-threatening are they? I
think I'd just suggest they leave the pastry on the side of the plate if
they don't wish to risk the butter in the pastry.
