Thanks very much for the recipe. Everything turned out fine except for the
potatoes and I did chop them as you said. I will use your recipe again but
I will precook the potatoes just a bit:)

Thanks for your help! I certainly taught me about the volume of liquid it
'didn't' need:)))

Glad it wasn't too bad. Yeah - the slow cooker retains most of the
liquid, so you don't need much. Ive been doing chickens and hams - they
don't need anything, they look very strange, but taste fine :)

Aye:) That is what I can't quite get my head round ... cooking with no
liquid:)

I just joined a fb group for Slow Cooking. It's interesting:) They cook
cakes and all sorts in theirs!

Thanks again:)

Do you have a slow cooker?
No.

I just simmer stews in a large saucepan with the lid on.

And you can make cakes in a mug in the microwave, too.

From reading the recipes online, it appears that the consistency of slow
cooker cakes are rather chocolate brownie-like.

By cakes in a slow cooker, I don’t think we are supposed to think of
victoria sponges.

Probably the same group as me - though I have got a bit fed up with it -
too many recipes use packet mixes (which I'm not keen on) and there seem
to be incessant queries from the US about what gammon is!?!

fed up with it, but what I am fed up with, is the constant emails I get
telling me what people are posting!

I think you can turn off the notifications if they annoy you - there's
usually a tick box at the top of the group page (I think!)

I have been looking but no joy so far:(

I will have to ask my granddaughter. She put me on FB in the first place
and she usually sorts me out. Trouble is I don't get to see her very often.
She is in England and I am in Scotland:(
